Trying to go to sleep....

But it's not working! So instead I am laying here cuddled up under blankets in bed with my phone making a post. HA!!
Let's see...what's to say...besides counting sheep???
Here are my updates on Mary's Sampler

And something I started stitching for Thanksgiving...
It is a freebie I found on a blog, the Twist Family....
Can't post a link right now as I am typing in the dark...heee heee!
It is the sweetest design!

This is going to be a hard Thanksgiving with missing our Son. First Thanksgiving without him being home. Military duties will keep him away. We are very proud if him. Hope he can be home for Christmas.
Now I really need to try and get some sleep..
Wish me luck!
More to come!

Lots and Lots!

Busy busy end of October! First let me show you my stitching updates....
Here is my "Dashing" by Birds of a Feather, slowly coming along! Stitching this on 28 count mushroom even weave lugana.
I am also keeping up with the Plum Street Samplers "Mary's sampler"....
Here is where I am so far on this one....also stitching this on 28 count lugana even weave ...
Here is my newest stitching spot in our living room...

We received a very loud knock at our door one evening.....
What a surprise!!!! It was our military Son (aka big Brother) I screamed!! I was so happy and excited to see his handsome face. I have missed him so much. It had been almost a year since he has been home. He was able to be home for a full week..much to our delight!
We carved the pumpkin...and roasted the seeds...
We built a wonderful Bon fire in our backyard and made s'mores as a family!

Wonderful river rocks our next door neighbor gave us to build our bonfire and make it pretty!...
A picture of me and my Son by the fire at night :)
Oh how I didn't want to let him go back to the Navy but I knew he had to go. We all loved having him home again and having our family as one ....in the same place at the same time! I don't think a million kisses and hugs was enough now that I think about it...I want to give him a million more!
I didn't cry as he quickly left for fear of upsetting him, but I think I know why he so quickly left. As his car drove away, well that's when I broke down and cried! I love my children so very much!

Our bunny Charleston dressed up for Halloween as a chicken!

Mr. Pumpkin became a sailor :)
Our daughter dressed as Morticia Adams!
We live in the country and only about six trick or treaters came by! Ugh!!! That means all that leftover candy......

The leaves of the season are just beautiful this time of year in North Carolina! Here are some pictures I took when I was out and about the other day..
This is by the front of our house:
And leaves I had gathered in my yard...
And around town....

We are not sure we will be able to be together as a family for Thanksgiving. I am grateful for the time we had together recently and am thankful for that. It certainly is hard on military families, especially during the holiday season times. Our heros sacrifice so much. We need to be reminded that while most of us are together enjoying each other's company, there are others that are not. They are doing this because they want to, for all of our freedoms and to protect us. When you say grace this Thanksgiving please remember all our soldiers who cannot be with their families this year. Also, the families...It's very difficult because we love and miss them so much! We all miss them.

Blessings to you!
Thank you for stopping by my spot on the web,
Louise

A stitching friend so graciously lent me "Dashing" by Birds Of A Feather. I am beyond thrilled! I have loved this chart since I have first set my eyes on it on the internet . It is out of print, a 1998 design.
I feel so blessed that I am able to stitch this darling design!
Here is my progress so far...

Sitting all evening stitching, listening to
My sweet daughter singing from her bedroom. :)

My Weekend

I had a busy weekend! I went to a Stitchers get together which was so much fun. We shopped at  The Stitch and Frame Shop in Rock Hill SC. Love this shop! If you haven't yet visited this shop, oh it's a must! The staff are so wonderful and helpful too. After shopping we all had a wonderful lunch at Bonnie's. We stitched, ate, laughed and went through stash too. It was so much fun!
Here we are as a group in front of the shop: can you spot me?
This is what I decided to purchase. I had a rebate that came in from my contact lenses, it could not have come at a better time!
Love Brenda Gervais designs!
I also came home with more stash....not as if I really needed it! Give-aways I didn't want to pass up....I need a million more years to stitch everything!
So lucky for me, a bright needle design in the bunch!! Woohoo!!!
I did good this time and didn't get lost driving. Sadly even with a GPS I can get lost :/
Upon arriving home I was so excited to see my hubby painting our bedroom a pretty color green. It is such a gorgeous green!
Cannot wait to decorate :)

I finished part 3 of Mary's Sampler from Plum Street Samplers.......
Someone so graciously is mailing me "Dashing" by Birds Of A Feather on loan so I can stitch this up for Christmas. I am anxiously awaiting! This is a very hard to find OOP chart. I am so thankful someone is willing to loan it to me!
Isn't it adorable! After I saw it on Pinterest..well, I just had to get my hands on this chart. I feel so blessed that someone would send it my way. I hope to stitch it fast enough as to not have it too long away from her!
Thank you my friend!
Maybe this time I will actually not have a UFO..and will have a finished piece because the chart is due back to someone else! lol
I should do this with all my stitching :)
Oh, and one more thing....the cutest freebie popped up today from The Little Stitcher! Perfect for Harvest Time!...If you would like to check it out... Mother Of The Harvest
I just might be stitching this one too :)
I wish you all a Blessed day today!

Sad News

I was saddened to hear that a fellow blogger has lost her battle with cancer.
I did not have the privilege of knowing her, I wish I did.  She was loved by so many and has
touched so many lives in such a beautiful way.
She leaves behind a husband an an infant son.
Prayers for her family today and in the difficult days ahead.
My heart hurts for them,
Her name was Cathey of Pumpkin Patch and Co.
You can read more about her and see pictures of just how beautiful she was please go to her friends blog HERE
As you scroll down you will see many memories of her beautiful life.
She will be missed by many!
Prayers for all her friends and family,

Louise xx
