Completed Needle Keep

This is a Needle Keep that I finished today.
This is a Lorri Birmingham design (just love her little bunnies!)
This is stitched with DMC threads, and placed on an Altoids tin.
I put a magnet in the lid for needles, and placed felt inside the bottom, and also on the bottom of the tin.

I painted some walls today!

I have decided to hand paint roses and a vine along the bathroom walls.
This is a very small half bathroom on the first floor of our home.
We purchased a mirror that had roses on it, so in keeping with the theme, I painted the appropriate flowers to compliment it :) If you click on the pictures, you should be able to view them bigger to see the painting close up...

Now...what to do next?!! :)

Little House Needleworks Finish

Here is "Two Blue Houses" By Little House Needleworks.
I have stitched this with DMC threads over two on evenweave.
I just finished this one up last night :)

Goodwill Shopping!

I stopped at Goodwill tonight.
What wonderful things I found there.
This is a very LARGE Laurie Korsgaden picture framed..will go perfect in my country living room:

I have started a collection of Corningware, The Cornflower Blue design. I only have three pieces , but it's a start! I love this old design..it is hard to find, but sometimes people do drop them off at Goodwill, I found a piece tonight!:

I have always wanted a large pie plate like this one. Couldn't pass it by! Will sure be perfect for my homemade apple pies in the Fall:

Just the beginning!

Just the beginning of my week.
Should I go back to bed and wait for next week?

On Sunday I went to Kohls with my son to get him a nice outfit to wear for graduation.
As I pushed the cart, there was in the middle of our pathway a pair of pants laying on the floor. Of course, being nice, I stopped my cart, and bent down to pick up the pants.
I guess I should have left them there this time.
As I bent down to get the pants, I hit a rod sticking out from a display that had clothes on it.
I hit it HARD!
I saw stars, I couldn't believe how bad my arm hurt...

My arm had a nice big bruise on it for a long time...

This morning, as I made my breakfast, I decided to empty the dishwasher. What was I thinking???
I have officially declared housework hazardous too.
lol
I went to put a big heavy mug into a cabinet, it fell out of my hand, hit the counter, and bounced into the carafe of the coffee maker. The glass on the coffee maker shattered everywhere. Now it is broken..no coffee for hubby! Not until we get a new carafe. ( I think that is what you call it?)

Should I just crawl into bed and skip work today?
Would love to do that , but I can't.

Need money to buy a new glass carafe for the coffee maker.
*sigh*

Let's hope this is IT for this week!

My Birthday!

I received the most wonderful gifts for my birthday.
I just had to share!
My wonderful Sister In Law Nicole stitched the most beautiful "Sister" design for me.
It will be treasured forever! She also sent my favorite Apple country candle, and many other wonderful primitive goodies. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful Sister in my life. Thank you Nicole!
Here is the cross stitch she made for me:

My dear stitching friend Jackie created this beautiful "altered can" for me.
She cross stitched the design on the front, and decorated the can so beautifully.
I also received a wonderful LHN chart , and many other goodies that she sent my way. Just loved the Raggedy Ann book to sew too! Thank you so much Jackie!

I feel so blessed to have such special people in my life :)

Paper Pieced Pinwheel

My second attempt at paper piecing. I think my first attempt was better!
This was done in four sections, then pieces were sewn together.
I used the same fabric as the first block. This block is a bit smaller though.
I had a hard time matching up the seams...
gotta love that purple and green. My favorite colors together! :)

Framed pieces

I finally framed some of my needlework pieces. I just love how they turned out!
