Autumn has arrived!

My favorite season is here! I just love this time of year. The cool crisp air, the smell of goodies baking in the oven, seeing all the pumkins around town... Oh just to take it all in!
I have already baked an apple pie....
And oh! It is soooo delicious!! But I need to stop eating so much of the goodies and start working out on my treadmill... I will be starting today as it just arrived . No more walking outside worrying about stray dogs and weather! I have no excuses now!
I have been stitching more on my Harriet Elizabeth Coe by Brenda Gervais.. Here is where I am at..
I am absolutely in love with this piece!! I truly love sitting with my tea and stitching every chance I get on this design. Sooo enjoyable!
With the Fall upon us now a new member has entered our family. I had a choice of colors and that was quite a difficult decision .. I chose black. Although I liked the cinnamon red, I felt safe going with a color that would blend with any decor changes I made in my kitchen. Here she is!
A new professional series 6 qt kitchen aide stand mixer. These are by far the greatest mixers to work with. (In my opinion) I had a smaller version in white that was 24 years old and just now part of a knob broke off (just a little plastic piece)... But it was still running after 24 years!! They are pretty much workhorses. They may seem expensive but when they last that many years, well, you surely are getting your money's worth.
I had some visitors in our yard recently. Praying mantis! Interesting little bugs... Or should I say big bugs!

We celebrated our daughters 19th birthday! Our daughter is such a blessing to us.

Wishing you all a wonderful Fall Season! Happy Baking!

Week one Mary's Mystery Sampler Finish!

I have finished week one of Mary's Mystery sampler being offered by Plum Street Samplers. See post below if you would like to join in the fun to get the link to the blog!
I have decided to use antique white jobelan with DMC threads. I am using the colors called for the black material although I am not using black. I like the muted tones of the threads. I really like how it looks so far and look forward to each new week as each part is unveiled for our stitching pleasure. How very generous of this designer to do this for us! Thank you so much!
Here is my piece so far:
I have also been stitching on my AOY design and here are the updates on that also;
I have also finished a pretty wool scarf in my favorite colors of plum!
Baked an apple pie!
Baked some yummy peanut butter cookies too....
Loved on one adorable bunny named Charleston (my baby!)
Did some shopping....some pretty yarn in more colors of plum!
An armchair caddy for my stitching supplies...I always wanted one of these!
Someone turned 18!
My sweet daughter!!

I talked to my sailor Son on the phone today.
:)
My husband made dinner while I stitched...I am blessed indeed!

Thanksgiving Baking!

The Thanksgiving baking has begun! I made a new favorite, Apple Crunch Pie. It sure is delicious!

If you would like the recipe, it is on my recipe blog HERE!

Of course we are having traditional apple pie, which I made use of my new snowflake cookie cutters to decorate the pie crust:

I made pumpkin pie and used a cookie stencil to make a turkey on top with confectioners sugar. Too CUTE!

These are the cookie stencils I use..I found them at the beginning of the autumn season at Hobby Lobby:

I also made a new recipe, chocolate snowball cookies. This is a recipe by Betty Crocker and can be found HERE!

The cookies are delicious, I omitted the almonds..and would suggest not using the full teaspoon of almond extract in the recipe. Almond extract is very strong in flavor! Next time I will probably just put a half teaspoon. They are yummie cookies though :)
I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving, being with family and thanking God for all our many blessings!

Make sure you head on over to Plum Street Samplers Blog for her new Freebie cross stitch design, it is Gorgeous, and perfect for Thanksgiving! You can find the freebie HERE!

The Primitive Hare has a cute Christmas freebie! You will have to scroll down to see it. Love it! CLICK HERE!

Happy Thanksgiving!
