Joke of the Day!

My dear husband Patrick likes to play jokes.
He is always doing something funny and makes us all laugh.
We have an ongoing joke that we have been playing for many years now.
When we lived in Florida we had obtained a rubber roach. He really is NOT a cute little fellow, and we like to pass him on to each other gladly. :P
After we moved to North Carolina, the "Little Guy" disappeared for a couple of years.
I was going through boxes not too long ago and he re-appeared again! Yes, I jumped when I put my hand into the bottom of a box and touched him, for I thought I touched a real roach!

The antics once again started up!
Under the blankets, scaring our daughter...in the shower behind the shampoo bottle...
on my husbands pillow....he looks so real, you never now where he could crawl next!!

He was found behind our sons lampshade, when the light was turned on, the "little Guy" looked as if he was crawling inside that lampshade..

Well...the "Little Guy" disappeared again for a while. I haven't really thought about him much.

I made my daughter's lunch for school and packed up her bag with her rolled turkey sandwich meat, cheese, and snacks.
I went upstairs to see if she was getting ready for school when she informed me that it was Friday and that she could not have meat in her lunch bag today. (Can't have meat on Fridays remember)...
(Her father told her this morning to remind her)..he told her this for a REASON!!

I ran downstairs and took the sandwich meat out of my daughter's lunch bag and proceeded to make her a peanut butter sandwich. I went to open up the bag of bread and put my hand in to take the slices out, and well...I felt something ...
a ROACH!!
So UNEXPECTED!
I screamed and JUMPED!
Patrick got me AGAIN! That little roach has made the rounds again, this time in the loaf of bread!

I have plans for my husband. Just wait!

Till next time ...
I will give the "Little Guy" a well deserved rest, for I am sure I scared him more than he has scared me. :P

Time for a PLAN!

Ornaments and finds

I finished off my PS Santa ornament. Used a pretty gold trimming for hanging. This will look nice on our new Christmas tree for this coming Christmas. Spent the morning running errands and stopped off at Goodwill to drop off more things that someone else might make use of. Of course I had to go inside! ;)
Yes, I found some treasures. I saw these two little Goebel angels, and even better, I found another piece to add to my cornflower blue collection of corningware!
The inside is scratched up quite a bit, but I don't mind as it won't really be seen when it is filled with food. :)
Slowly but surely I will have enough pieces to maybe consider myself having a complete set.
It is very chilly outside still, keep waiting on that warmer weather to arrive..
soon I hope, soon!

OWOH Surprises arrived!

I was so excited to find out that I had won some very special giveaways that were held in the One World One Heart Event that I was so blessed to be a part of.
What a fun event it was. I had the chance to meet so many new wonderful friends that I never would have had the chance to meet. Wonderful artists and creative people that live all over this world!
We all had the chance to enter in giveaways in our blogs. What fun it was :)
Lucky for me, my name was chosen!
I received two packages today. It was so much fun to open my mailbox up and find them.
First I want to say thank you to all the wonderful new friends that were a part of this wonderful experience, and to Lisa for making this event possible for all of us. She brought so many people together and it was a truly heartwarming experience.
I was able to explore so many wonderful blogs and look forward to visiting them again.

The first package was a very special handmade doll packaged in tissue with glitter.
Sparkly glitter!!:P
This is Zsa Zsa Kitty by KaerieFaerie Thank you so very much!!
Kaerie Faerie

She is so very pretty! She is sitting so lovely on her little cushioned pillow and wrapped in her very own Boa of pretty feathers.
Thank you so much, I will treasure her forever!

The second package was so very special!
This doll is very dear to my heart indeed, for it is a bunny!
This is not just any ordinary bunny, it is a Bunny named Flopsy. It sits on it's own spool of thread and has it's own adorable little slippers on it's feet! There is also a special little blanket to keep Flopsy toasty and warm :)
This bunny will sit proudly in my sewing room. :)
I love my new Bunny!!
Thank you so much to Regi from Southern Ooaks!!

Feathered Friends

Pretty DoveWoodpecker! (Click on the photo to see him close up, I can't believe I managed to get a photo of him) :)

It is a beautiful day outside today..the sun is shining and the air is so fresh!
I put out some seed on the deck for our feathered friends.
It didn't take long for them to come visiting.
There was a red bellied woodpecker, a dove, a titmouse too.
Such pretty birds here in North Carolina.
I could sit and watch them all day.
Here are some pictures I took from inside the window.

Doll House

I have been patiently waiting for the mailman to bring me a chart I had ordered. This is a Brightneedle design called "Dollhouse". I know this chart is now OOP and very difficult to find. I was lucky enough that someone spotted it at a stitch shop in GA and put it on hold for me. (Thank you Janine!)
I love all things related to dolls and dollhouses. This chart has such charm to it, I can't wait to stitch it one day soon.
I did purchase a beautiful piece of 32 count Lemon Whip Lugana, but it is a bit too small to use for this chart. I know though that this lovely piece of fabric will be put to good use with my busy hands!

Just look at this design, isn't it just darling!

Valentine Surprises!

What a delight to have my mailman ring my doorbell on Saturday!
A box was handed to me, and I wasn't quite sure what it might be..I wasn't expecting a box.
I opened it up and found the most wonderful goodies inside,
My dear friend Jackie (Hi Jackie!), sent me some homemade treasures!
She made me a beautiful fabric embroidered postcard, I just love anything with cupcake designs. It came out beautiful!
She also made made me a little drawstring bag, embroidered with the sweetest candy heart sentiments on it.
Right away I knew there was something good inside, I could smell the chocolate! :)
That bag did not stay closed very long. SMILE!

Thank you Jackie, you are always so good to me and such a wonderful friend.
I am blessed to have you in my life!

Baking again...

I have been wanting to make an old recipe of Cinnamon Coffee Cake that I had..
I couldn't find the recipe anywhere. I finally found it and started up the oven today!
This is the most delicious cake ever..

I have put the recipe on my recipe blog for those interested.
It makes a big 13x9 sized pan..enough for you and your friends. Perfect for get togethers. I have had many people request this from time to time.

WIPS

I have been working, stitching and enjoying the days.
I thought I would take a moment so you could see the little projects I have going at the moment. The first is an ornament that I have been wanting to stitch for myself. It is a Prairie Schooler santa. I just love this design! It is just about finished.

The second design is called "Random Threads" by Erica Michaels. What a pretty design with all things I love, pins, silk, cotton, needles, scissors, ...sooo me :)
I am stitching over two with two shades of brown threads. Pretty!

Trying to find the time to fit my stitches in. So many things going on in our lives..busy, busy!
Thinking of my Dear Dad today. Three years since he has passed.
I am thankful for the love he gave to me, and the lessons he taught me growing up.
I was blessed to have him as my Father.

Louise

New Charts

I have added to my ever growing collection.
These are charts I have really fell in love with and have wanted for some time. I worked some extra hours and decided to splurge and buy myself some treats!
Aren't they lovely:)
The charts are "Live, Laugh, Love" by La D Da
"Cranberry Christmas" by Prairie Schooler
"A Sampling In The Square" by Blue Ribbon Designs.

Blue Ribbon Designs are now one of my favorite designers.

Wishing you a day filled with Stitches,
