Happy Birthday and a new Crochet Ipod Sock :)

Our daughter turned 15 years old today. We cannot believe it! My how the years have flown by...
We are so proud of the young lady she has become. There was a family celebration and lots of fun. I took my daughter to a Paramore concert. She was thrilled! She received such nice gifts from her friends and family.
I think she really had a nice birthday this year. Her cookie cake was so yummy!

Here is a little gift I crocheted for her. It is an ipod sock. Her favorite color is blue, so I had used blue Cream and Sugar yarn.
It was pretty easy to make. I found the pattern at http://www.lionbrand.com/
You have to register to get the free patterns, but it is so worth it!

Happy 15th Birthday our sweet Angel Christine!
We sure do love you!!

On A Crochet Roll!

I have been crocheting like mad tonight!

Here are more baby shoes I completed tonight...
I love this yarn so much more for a baby..it is softer and has sparkle to it.
So pretty!

Crochet for baby feet

I have been working tonight on trying to make baby booties with crochet.
I have found a place on the internet that had pretty clear instructions. I have made one so far. It isn't perfect, but it does look like a little baby shoe! :)
That's pretty good I think.
Now, I hope I can get the second one to look like the first! (ha!)
I am not too good with crochet directions, but these are pretty simple.
If interested here is the link..

A Doodle Pumpkin

I like to draw and doodle..sometimes I use them for hand embroidery...
I did a little happy pumpkin this morning..I would like to share it with you. I hope this works! Hopefully you can print it out.
You can trace this happy fellow onto fabric using a light box or a bright window and then stitch him up using embroidery threads. Have fun!
You can click on him for full size and print him out...I will be adding more doodles from time to time. I have decided to save my doodles for you and added a place for them all together...you can find them all in one spot, just click the link on the right side bar if interested! :)

Enjoy!

Bunny of the house

Our "House Bunny" Peter Rabbit loves to get into things..
He was loose in my daughter's bedroom and found her schoolwork.
I guess it is true when students say their pets ate their homework!

Package of surprise! RAK

When I opened up my mailbox today, I was so surprised to see a package just for me!
I looked to see, and the package was from Kerribeth. I couldn't wait to open it up!
There inside was a chart she had told me that she was going to send, along with a couple of other charts, and beads.
Along with these charts was a HUGE bag of Carrie's hand-dyed floss!
I could not believe my eyes. I was telling her that I don't really have much in the way of hand-dyed threads, and usually only get them when given to me as a gift.
Well, I have been gifted with threads, more than My eyes can behold!!

Thank you so much Kerri, now I can't say I don't have hand-dyed thread anymore. I probably have more than anyone I know. :)

What a wonderful blessing I have received today.
:)

It's Saturday!

I just love Saturdays!
Here it is almost 11:30am..the kids are still asleep.
I have been busy looking through some boxes..
I don't think we will ever be fully unpacked. Very loooooong process!
What to keep, what to give away..such hard decisions!

Hubby has been in the attic and on the roof all morning putting in an attic fan.
It is plenty hot up there with the Florida sun. I sure do hope he finishes soon.I don't like him out in this heat so much.
He is such a wonderful handyman, and can do pretty much anything, so it did not worry me one bit when he cut that round hole in our new roof!

I have been busy working a little more on my granny stripe. Have not lost interest yet! Love all the vibrant colors :)
It is so much fun to do and goes so very quickly.
Lots of fun for sure.

Will update with pictures as I go along..

Hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Stripes of Crochet

I cannot believe I have started yet another project.
Why is it so exciting to start something, but yet, not exciting enough to keep going on what I have already begun, and finish something else?
OH! The thrill of gathering up the supplies and items needed for a new venture I guess. :P

I have spotted this beautiful pattern for a Granny Stripe Crochet blanket pattern on my dear friend Hazel's blog.
She was crocheting the most beautiful blanket, and I was so intrigued!

I am so glad she posted the blog that she had found the directions on.
I wasn't sure if I could manage it, but I think I have figured out how to make it right.
So far so good.
I am not using any particular pattern of colors, just throwing it together.
I did a chain of 240 stitches to start.
I am using Impeccable Loops and Threads Yarn I found at Michaels Craft Store. It is on sale this week!
I purchased 9 colors..but may go back for more.

So far so good, and I think it is coming along nicely.
Pretty I think!
The pattern can be found on Attic24's Blog

Perhaps you would like to give it a go?
